Today's customers are Akiko and Eugene, visiting from L.A. They just got married a week ago and visiting San Francisco for honeymoon!
Akiko got a pair of short tabi boots in burgundy, and Eugene got a v-neck shirt with
Ise cotton sleeve and black sashiko tabi shoes.
I hope their honeymoon is memorable one!

Textile Design 14:Carp Streamer

Today's featured textile design is "Carp Streamer" (Koi-nobori), which is used for our new tabi socks and tenugui towel.

The Carp Streamer taking in the wind, swimming in a leisurely manner in the sunny blue sky.
People used to set it up wishing for a boy's success in the future, but nowadays, they set up several different carps wishing all of the family member's wishes.

Looking at the carps swimming around in the big sky, they looks so free and make me feel happy.


晴れた青空に風をいっぱいに受けて、
ゆうゆうと泳ぐ鯉のぼり。
昔は男の子の出世を願って立てられたが、
現在では家族みんなの願いをこめて
何尾もあげることもある様だ。
大空を泳ぎ回る姿は、自由自在で楽しくなってくる。

Today's customer is Matthew. He got a pair of our short Tabi Boots last year, and he loved them so much he wore them everyday and wore them out!

This time he picked up two pairs to make sure he doesn't wear them out so quickly. I liked how he folded down the velcro tape section to make them look like short boots.

Sayagata pattern

Today's customer coming all the way from France is Hanna the architect.

She visited our Sou・Sou store in Tokyo and bought her first tabi shoes there.
She loved them a lot so when she came to San Francisco, she was determined to get another pair.

This time she chose the one with Sayagata Pattern. (sword sheath)
The geometric pattern is great choice for her black outfit.
