Halloween Concert!

This last Saturday, my brother and his band The Bloodtypes came to Oakland (from Portland, OR) to play a show. This was the first time I had seen his band play and they didn't disappoint!
先週の土曜日、私の兄のバンド”Bloodtypes"がオークランドでコンサートをしました。（兄もオレゴン州のポートランド出身です）兄が演奏するのを見るのは今回が初めてだったのですが、期待を上回る演奏でした！


The Bloodtypes play punk/rock/garage music, and they don't skimp on the fake blood (perfect for Halloween).
”Bloodtypes"の音楽はパンク／ロック／ガラージ系の音楽です。そして演奏には必ず血のりがでてきます。
（ハロウィーンにぴったり）


There's my bro! He plays guitar. At one point, there was so much fake blood on stage, he slipped and fell backwards, but kept playing! Such a pro.
これがギターを担当している私の兄です！ステージに血のりがいっぱい着いていたので、途中で足を滑らせてしまいましたがそれでもギターを引き続けていました。さすがはプロ。


The venue they played is called the Command Center, and is a live/work space in an old warehouse. I felt kind of sorry for the dog, Orbit! He didn't look too happy, and even tried to get on stage once or twice!
会場は”コマンドセンター”という古い倉庫で、ライブ等に使われているスペースです。
犬は病気だったので首止めをつけさせられてかわいそうでしたが、何度かステージに侵入してきました。


Five or six other bands also played that night, and the place really filled up.
他にも５．６バンドが演奏し、会場はいっぱいになりました。


Everyone was decked out in really cool costumes; this zombie Bob Ross and canvas costume was my favorite!

I left at 12:30am and the party was still going strong, whew! I'm such an old lady!

Maybe next time I'll stay until the end.
ハロウィーンだったので皆コスチュームで決めていました。ゾンビになったボブ・ロスと、絵を描くキャンバスになった人がとてもよかったです。私は１２時３０分に帰りましたが、その後も遅くまでパーティーは続いていたよう。
私も年をとったものです。

Enjoying Halloween with SOU・SOU Shoes!!

Did everybody enjoy Halloween this year?? I was too lazy to come up with a costume idea and didn't dress up! :( But just for fun, I want to share pictures of NEW PEOPLE staff who did dress up and included their SOU SOU shoes in their costumes:

Rodrigo's theme was "Japanese construction worker". He even managed to find
the baggy pants they wear in Japan! The purple tabi boots and hardhat complete the look nicely!

In the second picture, we have Audri dressed up as a kitten. Check out her tail and ears! Sooo cute! She finished off her costume with our popular short tabi boots. . I never would have thought of that, but it's purrrfect!
皆様、今年は楽しいハロウィンを過ごされたでしょうか？私は最後までコスチュームのアイディアが浮かばず結局仮装せずじまいでした。。今回はNEW PEOPLEのスタッフがSOU・SOUの靴を履いて仮装していたのでその写真をお届けしようと思います。

上の写真：ロドリゴの今年の仮装のテーマは”日本の工事現場”。わざわざこのために日本からトビ職の人がはくパンツを取り寄せてもらったそう。紫色の手縫い地下足袋とヘルメットをあわせてよりルアルなルックスになっています。
（この後この格好でパーテイーに行ってました）

下の写真：オードリーのテーマは”子猫ちゃん”。耳とシッポがとても可愛いです！！黒の自力マジック足袋が猫の足ぽくてさらに完璧です！

Friendly, responsible personality and great communication skills
Ability to work 2~3 days a week (including weekend days)
Organization skills and an eye for detail
Customer service experience (experience with apparel preferred)
Some knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator
Good problem solving skills, needs minimum supervision

SOU・SOU Employee Bio: Audri

Aloha! My name is Audri, I’m a sales associate at SOU・SOU San Francisco and also in the New People Store located just downstairs from SOU・SOU. I’m from all over the place, but I was born in Texas. I’ve also lived in New York, Canada and Japan. I’m currently studying Illustration at Academy of Art University. I hope to work in character and creature design some day! It’s also my own personal goal to get into the comic industry; I’m something of a closet comic book nerd.

In my free time I like to play video games (I’m currently trying to beat Zelda: Spirit Tracks for DS! Love Zelda!!), play around with film photography, share a nice cold beer or a good bottle of red wine with my friends and watch movies. I’ve also just recently started to study Tagalog. Wish me luck with that!

Working at SOU・SOU is tough sometimes because I just want to buy EVERYTHING! I really love working at both shops here in the New People Building, but running up and down those stairs all day sure can make you tired. Thank goodness I’ve got my super comfy SOU・SOU’s to help me battle those stairs all day long, right?! Stop by and say hi to me if you see me! If you can catch me!

アロハ！私の名前はオードリーです。SOU・SOUサンフランシスコ店と、下の階のNew Peoplesストアで働いています。
今まで色んな所にいましたが、もともとはテキサス生まれです。ニューヨークやカナダ、日本にも住んだことがあります。
現在アカデミー・オブ・アートでイラストレーションを勉強中です。いつかキャラクターデザインの仕事をやってみたいです！
漫画業界に入ることも目標のひとつです。実は隠れ漫画オタクのようなものです。
時間がある時にはビデオゲームをしたり（今DSのゼルダの伝説をやってます。ゼルダが大好きです！）フィルム写真を撮ったり、ビールや赤ワインを友達と飲みながら映画を見るのが好きです。最近タガログ語を勉強し始めました。うまくいくことを願っててください！
SOU・SOUで働くのは時々むずかしいです、なぜなら全部買いたくなるから！どちらのストアで働くのも好きですが、階段を上ったり降りたりするのは疲れます。一日中とても履き心地のいいSOU・ SOUの靴を履いていれば階段を上り降りするのは疲れないので、とてもいいです！もしお店で私を見かけたら声をかけてください！

Sou Sou Employee Bio: Chinatsu

Hi, My name is Chinatsu and I am the store manager of SOU・SOU San Francisco.
I am from Kobe, Japan and moved to San Francisco 10 years ago. On my days off, I like checking out the art shows, movies,finding new bakery, and taking polaroid pictures.
I've been wearing my SOU・SOU shoes for 2years now and I find them the most comfortable shoes ever.
( I already own 4pairs..and thinking getting another one soon :) )

もともと神戸出身でサンフランシスコには１０年前に引っ越してきました。趣味は映画とアートギャラリーを見てまわること、新しいパン屋さん開拓とポラロイドカメラで写真を撮ることです。
SOU・SOUの靴は２年以上前から履いてますが、これほど履き心地のいい靴は他にないと思ってます。(すでに４足もっていますがまた新たに１足増えるかも。。）

Sou Sou Employee Bio: Bryna

Hi! My name is Bryna and I am a Sales Associate at SOU・SOU San Francisco. I am originally from Portland, Oregon and have a B.A. in Graphic Design from Portland State University (I moved to SF in 2008). In my spare time I like to read, play Bingo, and explore the Bay Area. My boyfriend and I use a 1974 Vespa 150 Super to get around the city (pictured above), which can be both fun and scary!

One of my favorite parts about working at SOU・SOU is that I get to be around gorgeous textiles. Well, I also get to wear super comfy yet sharp-looking shoes all day long, and that is not bad either!

(Recently, Bryna and her boyfriend Joe got engaged! Congrats, Bryna!)
