We are very excited to announce that our first SOU・SOU Fashion Show will be held at the Peace Plaza Stage (underneath the Peace Pagoda tower in Japantown), starting at 1:15 P.M. on Saturday, August 27th!

SOU・SOU Japan CEO and Producer/Designer, Takeyuki Wakabayashi, will join us and reveal the brand new collection of unisex clothing, exclusively designed for the SOU・SOU San Francisco store! This line will be limited to our San Francisco store and the SOU・SOU U.S. online store, something many of our stateside fans have surely been waiting for.

Besides our fashion show, the J-POP Festival will be going on all day! There will be many pop-up booths selling various crafts, street food of all sorts, and tons of live music!

Don't miss this rare chance to see Mr. Wakabayashi and the new SOU・SOU Collection!

外務省との提携によるSOU・SOU初のアメリカでのファッションショーが８／２７（土）、１時１５分よりジャパンタウンのピースプラザ・ステージで行われます！（五十の塔／ピースタワーの下ステージになります）ファッションショーではサンフランシスコ店限定のSOU・SOU×NEW PEOPLEラインが発表されます！

J POP SUMMIT SOU・SOU Bicycle Show!!

At the J Pop Summit last week, SOU・SOU produced a cool BMX trick show at the Peace Plaza Stage. Sam Anderson-Moxley showed us his amazing unicycle skills and Max Novak was killer with his BMX bike. Van Halen deserves a shout out, too!
Sam is wearing the Dan Dan Split-toe tabi and Max is wearing the white SO-SU-U pattern tabi.

Thank you boys; you really entertained the audience and showed how wearable our shoes are!

先週のJポップサミットフェスティバルの様子を再度。今回はSOU・SOUがジャパンタウン内のピースプラザ・ステージにてBMXバイクショーを行った時の模様です。サム アンダーソン君は素晴らしい一輪車芸を、 マックス　ノバク君はBMXバイクですごいトリックを見せてくれました。サム君は、だんだん柄の地下足袋を、マックス君はSO-SU-U柄の地下足袋を履いています。
２人とも、楽しいショーを見せてくれて本当にありがとう！

J-POP SUMMIT

Annual J-POP Summit Festival came back to Japantown. J-POP Summit is the festival that celebrates everything and anything related to Japanese POP culture produced by NEW PEOPLE.

今年もJポップサミットがジャパンタウンにやってきました！JポップサミットとはNEW PEOPLE主催による日本のポップカルチャーを祝うフェスティバルです。

Detroit Metal City Premiere!

Yay! My recent favorite, the japanese movie "Detroit Metal City" is finally coming to SF!
The story is about a sweet and shy indie-rock loving boy named Negishi (played by Kenichi Matsuyama who played L in Death Note series) who got abducted by an evil music productions' manager and transformed to be the vocalist for a devil worshipping death metal band "Detroit Metal City". Against his will, DMC rapidly rises to stardom and even the legendary king of death metal Jack Il Dark (Played by Gene Simmons!!!) himself is challenging DMC to a duel.
The movie is so hilarious, and I loved the all characters in the movie! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves music - especially for those KISS fans out there!!

The movies opens Sep 18, Sat at VIZ CINEMA.

SOU・SOU Fashion Event

On the day of the Cherry Blossom Festival SOU・SOU held a fashion show event along with Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Black Peace Now.
Our regular customer, Brittnee and her 2 year old son Bryce modeled our newly received
clothing line. Look how elegant Brittnee looks wearing the new SOU・SOU kimono sleeve dress and matching pattern tabi shoes!
桜祭りの開催日、SOU・SOUはBaby, the stars shine brightと、Black Peace Nowと一緒にファッションショーイベントを行いました。SOU・SOUの常連客、ブリットニーさんと２歳の息子さん、ブライス君がモデルを務めてくれました。ブリットニーさんは新着商品の小袖ワンピースとお揃い柄の地下足袋を着用。とてもよくお似合いです！



By 1:30 the gallery was already packed.
ショーが始まる１時半頃には既にギャラリーは満員状態に。




Bryce seemed little bit nervous. This was his first time joining a fashion show!
ブライス君は初めてのファッションショーイベントに少し緊張気味。





We did the little bit of trivia quiz about the history of tabi shoes. It was so much fun and we were surprised some of the audience's knowledge about the tabi shoes.
But Bryce was the one who stole the show, waving hands to everyone and entertaining the audience!
ショーでは地下足袋についてのトリビアクイズを行いました。観客の中には地下足袋のことをよくご存知の方もいて驚きました。でも今回の主役はなんといってもブライス君。観客に手を振ってみんなを楽しませてくれました。





He is so happy when he's cuddling his mom. Look at his smile!

Shopping at Bazaar Bizarre

The Bazaar Bizarre, the coolest craft fair came to New People building yesterday!
昨日手作り市のバザール・ビザールがNew Peopleビル内で開催されました！



Sora Designs makes loveley jewelry made out of the vintage buttons and beads. I wanted to buy everything from her!
ヴィンテージのボタンやビーズで素敵なジュエリーを作るSora Designさん。お店まるごと買い占めたかったです。。



I couldn't resist buying these. This necklace and hair pins are just too cute!
可愛いネックレスとヘアピン。つい衝動買いしてしまいました。

The Bazaar Bizarre is coming to New People tomorrow!
The Bazaar Bizarre is the most fun and progressive DIY+craft fair in U.S and I'm so excited to see all the cool artists here.
I will try not to splurge, but I know it'll be hard cause there will be so many cute, original accessories and handmade stationaries and cupcakes and plush toys....
Bazaar Bizarre will be at New People building from 10am to 8pm, and there'll be the opening reception party at the Super Frog Gallery from 5 to 8. Everybody is welcome to the party! Please RSVP here.
