Flying Squirrel Caplet

Today's customer is Toshie. Toshie is organizing the charity auction event "Art Love, and Japan"going on this wed, may 25th
and she was looking for the tops she can wear over the dress and she tried on our "flying squirrel" Caplet with shibori tie-dye and voila! A casual-dressy look with Japanese touch.

This caplet's dot is hand dyed by the famous Shibori artisan, Mr. Tabata, at his studio in Kyoto. You can wear it as a long cardigan or fold it up and wear it around your neck and back as a short caplet, or wrap it completely around your neck as a scarf.

Toshie's charity event is going on at Sugar Cafe in downtown san francisco, starting at 5:30 P.M until 9:30 P.M tonight! SOU・SOU also donated some products too so if you are lucky you will score some of our products too! Hope to see you there!

本日のお客様は早川としえ様です。としえ様は東日本地震の被害者のためのチャリティーオークションイベント、"Art, Love, Japan"を主催されていらっしゃいます。今回はドレスの上にさらっと着られるものをということで、田端絞りのむささびをお買い上げ頂きました。
むささびの水玉は京都在住のしぼり職人、田端さんがひとつひとつ手染めで染めていらっしゃいます。
ロングカーディガンとしても、上半分を肩にかけて短いケープとしても、また首に巻いてスカーフ代わりにすることもできます。

Art, love and Japan This Wed!

This Wednedsay, May 25, a fun fundraising art show will be at Sugar Cafe in downtown San francisco!
There will be live art auctions, live painting shows by local artists, food and special cocktails, and even a Flamenco dance performance, only for this event!
SOU・SOU also donated a couple of products for this event and they will be auctioned for a really good deal!

100% of the proceeds from auction sales and and a portion of the art sales (varying with the artist) will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.

５月２５日の水曜日、サンフランシスコ、ダウンタウンのSugar Cafeにて、ファンドレイジングイベントArt, Love, and Japanが開催されます。
アートオークション、ライブペインティングショーからフラメンコダンスのショーまであり、当日限定のメニューやカクテルもあるそうです。
SOU・SOUもささやかながらいくつかアイテムを寄付させていただきました。商品はサイレントオークションの対象となります。
オークションの売上げは１００％、またアート作品の売上げの一部は日本赤十字に寄付されます。

Today's customer is Michael. He is a repeat customer of ours, having owned a pair of Sou-Sou tabi shoes before. He loved them so much he wore them almost everyday and wore them out, so he had to come back to get a second pair. His look is very stylish, with all black jacket+pants+ and shoes!

Textile Design 10:Dots and Stripes

Today's featured pattern is "Ma"(in between), one of the staple SOU・SOU pattern, used for All season Scarf, Tenugui Bags, and inside liner of the tabi shoes.

This is one of SOU・SOU's staple patterns, "Ma(In between)".
Each individual motif(stripes and dots) is small but if you see this pattern as whole, the structure is very bold.
I rearranged this pattern for the first time in 31 years.

SOU・SOUの定番柄に〝間〟というのがある。ひとつひとつのモチーフは小さい（例えば鮫小紋や縞）が全体の構成は大胆。それを31年ぶりに再構成してみた。

This is such a bold pattern, and i'm sure it attracts a lot of peoples attention! I like how Drew tucked the boots in her pants
so the pattern shows more!

Triplet Brothers!

Today's customer is Mark, visiting from the East Coast with his family.
He was supposed to visit Japan this spring but he had to cancel his trip due to the earthquake situation...bummer! But I hope he still managed to enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival and all things Japanese in Japantown.
He picked up a pair of tabi shoes with our "houndtooth" pattern, and when I asked if I could take a picture of him with the shoes on, his triplet brothers Coley and Brian offered to join the picture as well! I'm glad I had a chance to take a picture, because it's not every day you get to see triplets!
I wonder if they also share the same shoe size...

本日は千鳥柄の先割地下足袋をお買い上げになりました。写真を撮っていいかお伺いした時、３つ子の弟さんのコリー様とブライアン様も一緒に写真に入っていただきました！
３つ子を見かける機会はなかなかないので、写真を撮らせていただいてとてもうれしかったです！
