Textile Design 17: Glittering Light

Today's featured textile design is "Glittering Light". which is used for the sleeve of our signature V-neck cross over shirt.

Long day is almost over and the sun is setting into the sea.
The surface of the sea is covered with orange light and glittering.
I was staring with a lot of thoughts in mind.
I don't know how long it past, when I came to myself,
the sea was losing it's glitterling light and the dusk was gatherint quietly.
It was a day I felt like I went out far away.

Fishermans pants

Today's customer is Eden. He's been familiar with SOU・SOU clothing for long time so he told us he was very happy that now we have the store in US too. Today he got a pair of
fishermans pants made of 100% Ise cotton, and kimono sleeve tops made of chizimi weaving cotton. Casual and modern kimono look completed!

Harem Pants

Today's customer is Emily, who writes for Crunchyroll.com, the website that introduces japanese animation and pop culture. She picked up our new harem pants. This pants is made of 100% light-weight wool, and it falls very nicely, You can wear it casually with a t shirt like Emily does here, or pair it with our matching kimono sleeve-tops and create the casual kimono look for a dressier occasion.

Textile Design 16:Stripes

Today's featured textile is "Stripes".

This is a simple pattern, just mixing two tone stripes ,but it turned out to be an unusual, unique stripe pattern.
The pattern is very interesting. You mix ordinary motifs but it becomes something completely new by mixing pattern and changing space in between.
I think this rule might apply to various things too. like human relationships.

Reversible Haori Coat

Today's customer is Jack, who tried out our new reversible coat and he loved it! The coat is made of 100% muslin wool (very fine merino wool) and it is lightweight and warm, and Im sure with this bold pattern, this coat get a lot of attention!

Mix and Match!

Today's customer is Regina visiting from Germany, She got her first pair of SOU・SOU Shoes from her daughter and since then
she loved our shoes and wore them almost everyday!
Today she got a pair of hundred beauty pattern tabi shoes and alabaster pattern shoes, and she wore different pattern on each foot! What a great idea! Looks very unique and fun-I'm sure she got a lot of attention on the street!

SOU SOU Shoes on baseball game!

On Saturday, September 3, 2011, Mr.Hiroshi Inomata, Consul General of Japan in San Francisco, threw the ceremonial first pitch for the Oakland Athletics (A's) and Seattle Mariners game. And guess what he was wearing that day...Yes! SOU・SOU Shoes!!
He proved that our tabi shoes are not only stylish, but also very functional and great for sport.

Textile Design 15: Heian Shrine

Today's featured design is Heian Shrine, We just got the tenugui towels with this pattern!

Kyoto, encircled by mountains has a single river running through it.
The mountains appear soft and majestic, the river keeping the earth gently moist.
People must have thought that that is why this city is the capital, because of its beauty, surrounded by nature's elegance.
Even now I enjoy looking at Heian shrines that have that atmosphere in common with many other shrines and temples.


まわりをぐるりと山に囲まれて、その中を一本の川が流れている。
山はふんわりとして雅で、川はゆるやかに大地をうるおしていっている。
この優雅な自然に抱かれた佇まいの美しい、こここそ都であるという想いを持ったと思う。
今も多くの神社仏閣と共に情緒ある平安京の姿を楽しむことができる。

Trip to Napa

My friends and I took a short trip to Napa and Petaluma last weekend. We tried several different winery spots, but the best one by far was Robert Keenan Winery in Spring Mountain District of the Napa Valley.
They accept wine tasting by appointment only, and perhaps due to it's location, there weren't too many tourists, making it was a very relaxing experience for all of us.
先日友人と一緒にナパとペタルマへ旅行してきました。色々とワイナリーを試したのですが、一番よかったのがスプリングマウンテンにあるロバートキーナンワイナリー。ここは予約制のワイナリーで、おそらくロケーションがすこし離れているためあまり混雑することなく
とてもリラックスできるワイナリーでした。




Since it is located about 1700ft high from the Napa valley floor, we had to drive on a rocky road for a while, but it was definitely worth the trip!
ナパバリーから1700フィートも上にあるため、しばらく山道をドライブしたのですが、わざわざ行ったかいがありました！

We tasted various different white and red wine, and all were sooo good! I bought a really good red wine (I don't know when I'm gonna open it, maybe on my birthday?), but I still wish I can get a magnum bottle someday.
色々と白ワイン赤ワインを試飲しました。どれもおいしかったです。特別な日のために赤ワインを購入しました。



Next day, went shopign to St. Helena Olive Oil.Co. Not only do they sell a variety of high quality olive oil, they also have olive oil-based soaps and skin care items, making it a great place to pick up small souvenirs.
次の日はセントヘレナオリーブオイルカンパニーに。色んな種類のオリーブオイルが販売されているだけでなく、オリーブオイルを使った石けんやスキンケア商品も販売されています。



We also enjoyed our picnic in the Calistoga area. The wine and food under the bright blue sky was a really fun experience and thanks to the weather everything tasted even better!
I hope to go back there to enjoy sunny weather and delicious food soon!

Tabi shoes with Persimmon dye

Today's customer is Latonya. She loves Japanese street fashion and she was very excited to find our NEW PEOPLE building!

After getting advice from her sister and her mom, she finally decided on the pair of round-toe tabi shoes made with Persimmon dye. The neutral color dyed from natural Persimmon juice is a really good match for her casual jeans & t-shirt style.

They said they always go shopping together and decide together. It must be really nice to have your fashion adviser with you at all times!

Samue Pants2

Today's customer is Kaoru, He is a professional Taiko/Japanese flute musician. He was looking for something that was both comfortable and suited his Japanese music style. He tried on our Kimono sleeve tops and Samue pants, and it worked out perfectly!
This look is reminiscent of Kimono, but is definitely more modern and easy to wear. Since he also collaborates with jazz musician or contemporary musician too, SOU SOU clothing, another mix of modern and traditional design, will be a great match for his perfomance.

He also tried the pants with our Le Coq Sportif bicycle t-shirt, which looked stylish as well.
